We are pleased to have the opportunity to be a clinical site for the Ferris State University college of Pharmacy. Ferris students have the option to do a one month rotation at Healthway Compounding Pharmacy to learn the many aspects of compounding.
The student will spend the first two weeks of the rotation learning how to compound 10 different dosage forms for both sterile and non-sterile products.
The student will be exposed to the legal and ethical side of a compounding pharmacy as well as learning about PCAB and the accreditation of compounding pharmacies including USP Chapter 795 & 797.
The student will also spend a day with a hospice nurse, a day at our community site in St. Charles, and a day at our closed door mental health pharmacy.
